Skyesports Teases at IPL like City-Based League for THE FINALS in India

Skyesports, India’s leading esports organizer, recently teased another esports tournament for the game THE FINALS.

Dubbed “THE FINALS League” as per the X tweet (which was later deleted), this will be the third major THE FINALS tournament in India, following the Esports Revolution Showdown and THE FINALS Community Cup.

THE FINALS is a recently launched fast-paced first-person shooter that has been making waves in the gaming world for its unique features:

  • Highly destructible environments
  • Interactive gameplay elements
  • Fast-paced action that’s as fun to watch as it is to play

These characteristics make THE FINALS not just an exciting game to play, but also a potentially electrifying esports title to spectate.

What Do We Know About Skyesports’ THE FINALS City-based League?

While details are still emerging, here’s what we’ve gathered so far:

City-Based Format: Similar to the Indian Cricket League (IPL), the Team will represent their city in this tournament. Skyesports has experience with this format, having organized the Skyesports League for VALORANT in 2021 with 8 participating cities. Similarly, Skyesports tried it with the Skyesports League for BGMI in 2022, but it was canceled after the BGMI ban.

Top Talent Involved: The league will feature a mix of renowned creators and professional players from the Indian gaming scene.

Player Auction System: According to InsideSport, Skyesports plans to organize a player auction similar to IPL. Top creators representing the city will bid to assemble their dream teams.

While the full roster is yet to be announced, some big names in Indian gaming have already hinted at their involvement:

Euphoria and Tbone, both prominent creators, reacted to Skyesports’ initial (now deleted) tweet about the league.

When and Where Will the League Take Place?

As of now, specific dates and locations haven’t been announced. However, given Skyesports’ track record, we can anticipate:

  • A mix of online qualifiers and main-event matches
  • Possible LAN finals in a major Indian city
  • Extensive coverage across streaming platforms

Results of the Last TWO The Fianls Tournament

  • Esports Revolution Showdown LAN held in Chennai – Team Mortal triumphed over Team Scout to claim victory.
  • The open-for-all THE FINALS Community Cup – featured a $10,000 prize pool, with Team IND emerging as the winner.
