Skyesports Unveils Counter-Strike 2 Esports Roadmap for 2026

Skyesports has officially revealed its Counter-Strike 2 Esports roadmap for 2026, outlining two major Tier 1 tournaments. This announcement aligns with Valve’s updated rules for the CS2 ecosystem, which require tournament organizers to announce events well in advance. For the 2026 competitive season, the submission deadline was set for January 2025. Notably, other major organizers like ESL, PGL, and the Esports World Cup had already shared their 2026 plans.

Skyesports 2026 Counter-Strike 2 Esports Roadmap

In 2026, Skyesports will host two major Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2 tournaments:

  • Skyesports Event 1: March 30 to April 12, 2026
  • Skyesports Event 2: September 7 to 20, 2026

These tournaments are expected to showcase top-tier talent and intense competition, drawing participation from some of the best teams across the globe.

Skyesports 2025 Counter-Strike 2 Esports Roadmap

Skyesports’ plans for 2026 build upon the foundation laid by its 2025 roadmap, which was unveiled in August. The 2025 season includes four tournaments: three Tier 1 and one Tier 2 event.

  1. Skyesports Souvenir 2025: February 17-23, 2025 ($250,000 – Tier 2)
  2. Skyesports Masters 2025: May 26 – June 1, 2025 ($500,000 – Tier 1)
  3. Skyesports Championship 2025: September 15-21, 2025 ($500,000 – Tier 1)
  4. Skyesports World Tour 2025: November 10-16, 2025 ($500,000 – Tier 1)

Skyesports Souvenir 2025: A Tier 2 Tournament

The Skyesports Souvenir 2025 will feature 12 teams. Four teams will receive direct invitations to the Main Event, while the remaining eight teams will compete in an online Closed Qualifier hosted on European servers.

The Closed Qualifier will consist of two groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Main Event, which will follow a double-elimination format. The prize pool distribution is as follows:

  • 1st Place: $100,000
  • 2nd Place: $50,000
  • 3rd Place: $35,000
  • 4th Place: $25,000
  • 5th-6th Place: $12,500 each
  • 7th-8th Place: $7,500 each

Tier 1 Tournaments: Open and Closed Qualifiers

The Skyesports Masters, Championship, and World Tour in 2025 will feature open qualifiers, ensuring teams worldwide have an equal chance to compete.

  • Open Qualifiers: Online single-elimination brackets, with best-of-one matches up to the Round of 16, followed by best-of-three matches.
  • Closed Qualifiers: The top 12 VRS-ranked teams and four Open Qualifier winners will compete in a double-elimination format.

Closed Qualifier Schedule:

  • Skyesports Masters CQ: April 14-20, 2025
  • Skyesports Championship CQ: August 11-17, 2025
  • Skyesports World Tour CQ: October 13-19, 2025

Main Event Structure: The Main Event will consist of a league stage in a single-round-robin, best-of-three format. The top four teams will then advance to the playoffs, with semifinals played in a best-of-three format and the grand finals in a best-of-five showdown.
