Capcom has finally confirmed they’re making Resident Evil 9, the next big game in their storied survival horror franchise.
In Capcom NEXT Summer 2024, Koshi Nakanishi, the director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, revealed that the next entry in the series is now in development. He says:
“It was really difficult to figure out what to do after Resident Evil 7, But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.”
We don’t know much about it yet, but fans are hoping it’ll be as good as Resident Evil 7, which really changed things up.
Nakanishi has worked on other Resident Evil games too, like Mercenaries 3D and Revelations. These games helped make the series fresh and exciting again.
Capcom is not just working on Resident Evil 9, though. They also gave us the release date of some other cool games coming out:
- The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is set to release on September 19th, featuring improved graphics and quality-of-life upgrades.
- Resident Evil 7 is launching on iOS on July 2nd, bringing the horror experience to mobile devices.
- Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, a new tower defense game inspired by Japanese mythology, is getting a demo ahead of its July 19th release.
