Rainbow Six Siege‘s competitive scene is changing for 2025, with a new tournament format revealed during the Six Invitational 2025 in Boston.
Instead of having two BLAST R6 Majors like in previous years, 2025 will now feature only one Major, alongside a brand-new competition called “Reload.”
The Reload tournament will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the Arena Carioca 1 from May 16 to May 18, 2025, with tickets will go on sale on February 19.
“This will be Rainbow Six Siege’s first international competition since the Six Invitational 2024,” states the official announcement.
Many fans remember the 2024 tournament in São Paulo as one of the best in the game’s history, with exciting storylines, thrilling matches, and a sold-out 10,000-seat arena.
R6 Share Program Expansion
In addition to the tournament structure changes, Ubisoft revealed that two new esports organizations – LOUD and Cloud9 – will join the R6 Share program in 2025.
This brings the total number of partnered teams to 20, up from the previous 18. W7M also joined the program after acquiring the spot originally owned by Fluxo.
As reported by esports.gg, “Affiliate teams will battle in each region, hoping to climb the ranks and earn their spot amongst the top teams in Rainbow Six Siege esports for 2025.”
Regional League Format Changes
The regional leagues will also see significant changes in 2025. Each league will follow a two-stage structure, with Stage 1 in June and Stage 2 in September.
The four regions – NAL (North America), SAL (South America), EML (Europe, Middle East), and APL (Asia-Pacific) – will feature partnered, affiliate, and Challengers teams.
In most regions, 10 teams will start in a Group Stage and advance to a six-team Playoff Stage. The APL region is unique, being divided into APAC North, Asia, and Oceania sub-divisions.
Following Stage 2, the top four teams from the leagues qualify for the November Major.
Teams that win their regional final qualify directly for the Six Invitational.
Ubisoft is positioning 2025 as “the most competitive year yet” for Rainbow Six Siege esports. They also announced Rainbow Six Siege X, a new “evolutionary update” in game’s mechanics.
On Sunday, the Six Invitational 2025 in Boston crowned FaZe Clan as the new world champion, dominantly defeating Team BDS.
