Level Infinite, the global publisher of PUBG MOBILE, has unveiled an ambitious esports strategy for 2025, featuring several groundbreaking developments. The company’s latest announcements showcase an increased prize pool, more grassroots competition, and supporting players at every level of the competitive ecosystem.
Big Prize Pool
At a recent press conference, Level Infinite announced a massive $10 million prize pool for esports events in 2025. James Yang, the Director of Global Esports, highlighted that this funding isn’t just about top-tier competitions but also about nurturing emerging talent.
London Host Global Finals
The PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) will make history by hosting its grand finals in London for the first time. Sixteen elite teams will compete for a staggering $3 million prize pool. This event represents the largest Western European tournament in the company’s history.
More Grassroots Competitions
A key focus for 2025 is expanding the grassroots esports scene. Level Infinite plans to host 22 official regional tournaments across five key regions, creating unprecedented opportunities for amateur players. Yang emphasized the unique appeal of battle royale games – they’re “easy to learn and hard to master” – making them incredibly attractive to a broader audience.
The tournament structure is designed to provide clear progression paths. Top performers from regional tournaments can advance to PUBG MOBILE Super League events and potentially reach the World Cup or Global Championship.
Competitive Partnership Program
The company is also revamping its partnership program to ensure continued excellence. Yang stressed that future partnerships won’t guarantee permanent slots for underperforming teams. “If an amateur team plays better than a partner team, they deserve the opportunity,” he explained.
Exciting International Events Lineup
2025’s international event calendar is packed with thrilling competitions:
- PUBG MOBILE Global Open in Uzbekistan (March-April)
- PUBG MOBILE World Cup at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Summer)
- PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in Thailand and Grand Finale in London (Year-end)
Yang expressed optimism about the ecosystem’s growth, stating, “Once we have a great environment for amateur players, it will translate into better viewership and support for our professional leagues.”
