PUBG Mobile publisher Level Infinite has revealed its 2025 esports roadmap with significant changes to tournaments, regional structures, and opportunities for amateur players.

The announcement came from James Yang, Senior Director of the Global Esports Center at Level Infinite, who outlined the upcoming events and changes in the PUBG Mobile esports YouTube channel.

One of the biggest events will be the return of the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The tournament will introduce new “SMASH” rules where a team can immediately win the championship if they reach 80 points and secure a Chicken Dinner in any remaining match. If no team meets these conditions after 12 matches, the team with the highest points will be crowned champion.

The PMGO Grand Finals, scheduled for April 12-13, will feature both professional and amateur teams competing for a $500,000 prize pool. Several professional teams have already qualified, including:

  1. Nigma Galaxy
  2. Influence Rage
  3. 4Merical Vibes
  4. Regnum Carya Esports
  5. D’Xavier
  6. Nongshim Redforce
  7. Reject
  8. TBA

According to Yang, the PMGO champions will earn an extra slot for their region in the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025.

Another major change in the 2025 roadmap is the expansion of the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) into five distinct regions:

  1. Southeast Asia (SEA)
  2. Central and South Asia (CSA)
  3. Americas
  4. Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
  5. Europe (EU)

Previously, Europe, Middle East, and Africa were grouped together as one region (EMEA).

“By splitting PMSL EMEA into PMSL Europe and PMSL MENA, we’re fostering more opportunity for regional teams to shine on the global stage,” Yang explained.

To increase participation opportunities, the publisher is holding more PMSL Qualifiers, with a total of 29 qualifiers planned in 5 new regions. Both the PUBG Mobile National Championships and Super League Qualifiers will be open to all players, creating a clearer path to professional competition.

As reported in the December 2024 roadmap, PUBG Mobile will return to the Esports World Cup in Riyadh during Summer 2025. This prestigious event will feature 24 elite teams competing for a $3 million prize pool.

The 2025 competitive season will conclude with the PUBG Mobile Global Championships in Thailand, bringing together 38 of the world’s best teams.

Beyond tournaments, Level Infinite also plans to support third-party competitions, caster events, and content creation initiatives. A PDP design contest is currently underway, with winners creating the official skin for the 2025 PUBG Mobile World Cup at EWC.

The complete tournament schedule and additional details are available on the official PUBG website.
