PUBG Esports Unveils Comprehensive Tournament Schedule for 2025

PUBG Esports has revealed its tournament roadmap for 2025, maintaining the successful format established in 2024. The upcoming year will feature six major global competitions interwoven with regional series, ultimately leading to the prestigious PUBG Global Championship (PGC) in December 2025.

Tournament Structure and Regional Distribution

The competitive framework continues to showcase 24 teams in each tournament, with an interesting split between established and emerging talent.

10 slots are reserved for Global Partner Teams, while the remaining 14 positions are earned through regional qualifiers. These qualifiers span five major regions: China, Korea, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), APAC (Asia Pacific), and the Americas.

The 14 qualification spots are divided across five major regions as follows:

  • APAC (Asia Pacific): 4 slots
  • Korea: 3 slots
  • Americas: 3 slots
  • EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa): 2 slots
  • China: 2 slots

2025 Tournament Calendar Breakdown

First Quarter:

  • January-February: Preparation period
  • March: Regional Series Qualifiers

Second Quarter:

  • April: PGS 7 (PUBG Global Series)
  • May: PGS 8
  • June: PNC 2025 (PUBG Nations Cup)

Third Quarter:

  • July: Regional Series Qualifiers
  • August: Mid-season break
  • September: Regional Series Qualifiers

Fourth Quarter:

  • October: PGS 9
  • November: PGS 10
  • December: PGC 2025 (PUBG Global Championship)

Current PUBG Competitive Scene

As the 2024 season progresses, the competitive scene remains active with the recent conclusion of the PAS4 Grand Finals (October 4-6). The remaining 2024 schedule includes PGS 5 and PGS 6, setting the stage for the transition into the 2025 season.

Server Infrastructure Updates

In parallel with the esports announcements, Krafton has implemented significant server infrastructure changes. A major server merger has consolidated the Asian, SEA, and American servers, effectively combining previously separate regions including Oceania, South America, Korea, and Japan. This consolidation, scheduled for the October update, aims to enhance the player experience by expanding the available player pool while maintaining all existing game modes and player progression.
