Ubisoft plans to release Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for iOS and Android mobile platforms on April 14, 2025, bringing the full console experience to your pocket.

According to Ubisoft’s official website, the mobile version will run at 60 frames per second on newer mobile devices, ensuring smooth gameplay comparable to its console counterparts.

Players will have flexible control options, with both touchscreen controls and external controller support available. The mobile version also includes customization features that let players adjust controls to fit their personal preferences and playing style.

The mobile version comes with several quality-of-life improvements designed specifically for on-the-go gaming. According to Ubisoft, you’ll get access to auto-potion for automatic healing, auto-parry to help with those tricky combat timings, and even a slow-motion option for when things get too hectic. Optional shield settings round out the package, making the game more approachable for on-the-go gaming sessions.

Accessibility is front and center with this release. When you first boot up the game, you’ll get to choose your preferred style: traditional PC/console experience, mobile-optimized controls, or a casual experience with additional assistance features.

Can’t wait to try it? Pre-registration is already open on both Google Play and the App Store. There will be a free trial at launch, with the full game unlockable through a single purchase at $10.54 USD (€9.99).

The mobile port is being handled by Ubisoft Da Nang, who seems to be doing a solid job preserving what made the original special. The distinctive art style and fluid animations that earned praise in the console version appear to be intact.

The original release (January 2024) has been something of a critical darling for Ubisoft. Metacritic reviews praise everything from the combat mechanics to the authentic Iranian musical influences. The game currently boasts an impressive 86/100 Metacritic score based on console and PC versions.

The accolades don’t stop there. At The Game Awards 2024, The Lost Crown beat out heavy hitters like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard for the Innovation in Accessibility award. It recently cleaned up at the Pégases 2025 (think of it as the French Video Game Awards), taking home four trophies including Best Video Game.

While Ubisoft hasn’t shared specific sales numbers, quarterly financial reports hint that The Lost Crown performed better with critics than at the cash register. The company noted that the game did not meet expectations like its other 2024 titles, such as Star Wars: Outlaws and Skull & Bones.

If mobile gaming isn’t your thing, The Lost Crown is still available on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and other major platforms. But for gamers who prefer their adventures on the go, April’s mobile release offers a chance to experience what might be one of Ubisoft’s best recent titles wherever you happen to be.
