The Pokémon Company has officially announced the launch of the first-ever “India League“, which is part of the Pokémon Unite Asia Champions League (PUACL) 2025.

This tournament marks a major step for India in global Pokémon esports, bringing together eight of the country’s top esports organizations to compete for a generous prize pool of $40,000.

With this league, Pokémon Unite aims to foster a competitive community in India and open doors for local teams to showcase their skills on an international platform.

Teams Competing in PUACL 2025 India League

The eight teams set to compete in the PUACL 2025 India League are:

  • GodLike Esports
  • Gods Reign
  • Global Esports
  • Marcos Gaming
  • Reckoning Esports
  • Revenant Esports (Revenant XSpark)
  • S8UL Esports
  • True Rippers

How Will the Tournament Format Work?

These teams will compete in the regular season of the India League, scheduled to span eight matchdays held over weekends from November 16, 2024, to January 26, 2025.

The tournament will consist of a group stage followed by playoffs. The winner of the tournament will be crowned the champion of the India League and will go on to represent India in the Pokémon Unite ACL 2025’s offline final in Japan.

In the group stage, held over the first seven matchdays, teams will compete in single-elimination brackets, with each team’s performance determining their seeding for the final playoffs on January 26, 2025.

During the playoffs, all eight teams will enter a knockout round, with only one team emerging as the final champion to carry India’s flag at the international level.

Prize Pool Distribution

The prize pool for the PUACL 2025 India League totals $40,000, with distribution as follows:

  • Champion: $16,000
  • Runner-up: $8,000
  • Third Place: $6,000
  • Fourth Place: $4,000
  • Fifth Place: $2,000
  • Sixth Place: $2,000
  • Seventh Place: $1,200
  • Eighth Place: $800

Skyesports founder & CEO Shiva Nandy emphasized their commitment to growing the game, stating that the “clear roadmap” and “international opportunities” have helped establish Pokémon Unite as a leading title in India.

In addition, Skyesports will host an open-for-all tournament, “the Winter Open,” giving players across India a chance to participate in the PUACL. The Winter Open will offer an inclusive opportunity for aspiring players to compete for a spot in the PUACL Final in Japan, helping to create a more robust and accessible esports ecosystem.
