PlayStation Plus has revealed its exciting January 2025 lineup, featuring Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
Starting January 7, subscribers can download and enjoy these titles as part of their membership.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PS5)
Developed by Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League invites players to step into the shoes of DC’s most notorious anti-heroes.
The game offers both single-player and multiplayer co-op modes, allowing players to team up with friends to take down corrupted members of the Justice League.
Set in the sprawling open-world city of Metropolis, the narrative follows Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark as they face off against alien forces and once-heroic figures now turned antagonists.
Despite its ambitious premise and solid third-person shooter mechanics, the game struggled commercially and critically following its release in early 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery reported disappointing sales figures, and support for the game is set to conclude after Season 4, Episode 8.
However, with the game now available on PlayStation Plus, players have a chance to experience its unique gameplay and engaging storyline without any cost.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe (PS4, PS5)
For those who prefer a more narrative-driven experience, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe stands out as a must-play. Originally a beloved indie classic, this reimagined version expands upon the original with additional content, fresh choices, and hidden secrets.
The game explores the illusion of choice, immersing players in a humorous yet thought-provoking experience guided by an iconic narrator voiced by Kevan Brighting.
Critics have universally praised the game, with a 90 average score on OpenCritic and a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered (PS4)
Racing enthusiasts can look forward to Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, a polished version of the 2010 Criterion Games classic. Known for its exhilarating high-speed chases and intense police pursuits, the remaster includes enhanced visuals, cross-platform multiplayer support, and all previously released DLC.
While critical reception has been mixed, with a Metacritic score of 75 and a user score of 5.9, the game still delivers thrilling arcade-style racing. Outlets like God is a Geek praised its chaotic multiplayer modes and iconic soundtrack, while others noted the remaster could have offered more meaningful improvements.
