Sony has announced three new games that will be free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers in March 2025: Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection.
These games will be available to PlayStation Plus members starting March 4. Once added to your library, you can download them anytime as long as your subscription remains active. The offer runs until March 31, giving members nearly a month to claim these titles.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The most notable addition is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which was just released in October 2024.
Despite earning positive reviews with an average score of 84 out of 100 on Metacritic, the game fell short of financial expectations. According to reports from Electronic Arts, The Veilguard missed sales targets by nearly 50%, reaching only 1.5 million players by the end of 2024.
The underwhelming sales performance led to significant changes at BioWare, including staff layoffs. Some of the game’s struggles can be attributed to controversy surrounding its progressive themes and diverse representation, which resulted in review-bombing from certain segments of the gaming community.
The Veilguard is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with critics generally praising its epic story, detailed world-building, and action-focused combat system.
Sonic Colors: Ultimate
The second game in the lineup is Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a remastered version of the 2010 platformer originally released for the Wii. This enhanced edition launched in September 2021.
The game follows Sonic on his mission to free Wisps that have been captured by the notorious Dr. Eggman.
Blind Squirrel Entertainment developed this remaster, which Sega published across multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Players have responded positively to Sonic Colors: Ultimate, particularly appreciating its vibrant visual upgrades, improved controls, and new features like the Jade Ghost Wisp power and Rival Rush mode.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
Rounding out the March offerings is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, which was released in August 2022. This comprehensive package brings together 13 classic TMNT games from 1989 to 1994.
Developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Konami, the collection has received praise for its nostalgic appeal and quality-of-life improvements to these beloved retro titles.
Beyond just the games themselves, The Cowabunga Collection features an in-game museum showcasing development art, sketches, and original design materials.
The collection is also available across all major platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
PlayStation Plus subscribers who haven’t yet claimed February’s free games—Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac—have until March 3 to add them to their libraries.
