Sony has officially announced the PlayStation Plus monthly games for February 2025, featuring Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. All three titles will be available for PlayStation Plus members starting February 4. Once added to your library, these games will remain accessible as long as your subscription is active.
Payday 3 (PS5)
Developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver, Payday 3 launched on September 21, 2023, as the latest installment in the popular heist-focused FPS series. The game allows players to execute high-stakes robberies either through stealth or all-out combat, featuring a variety of dynamic missions, customizable characters, and cooperative multiplayer gameplay.
The story picks up after the events of Payday 2, where the Payday Gang, betrayed and left with nothing, reunites to reclaim their criminal empire. Despite its promising premise, Payday 3 received mixed reviews, with praise for its heist mechanics but criticism for balance issues and content limitations. On Metacritic, the game holds a critic score of 66, while user reviews are less favorable, averaging 3.2 out of 10.
Despite the criticism, the game achieved notable commercial success, generating nearly $50 million in revenue within its first ten days on Steam and selling approximately 1.5 million copies during this period.
High on Life (PS4, PS5)
Originally released on December 13, 2022, for Xbox and PC, High on Life made its way to PlayStation consoles on July 22, 2023. This comedic first-person shooter blends action-adventure and Metroidvania elements, offering a unique experience with talking alien weapons called “Gatlians” and an irreverent sense of humor.
Critics gave the game mixed reviews, praising its distinctive style and humor while pointing out technical flaws and inconsistent comedy. On Metacritic, it holds a score of 67 based on 52 critic reviews. However, its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass on day one significantly boosted its popularity, making it the biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever and the largest single-player game debut at that time on the service, according to its creator, Justin Roiland.
Pac-Man World Re-Pac (PS4, PS5)
A nostalgic throwback, Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a remastered version of the 1999 classic, released on August 26, 2022. Available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, this 3D platformer modernizes the original with enhanced visuals and refined gameplay.
Players control Pac-Man as he embarks on an adventure to save his family from the Ghosts, navigating six areas of Ghost Island. The game offers three modes: Quest Mode, Maze Mode, and Original Mode, blending platforming, puzzle-solving, and classic Pac-Man gameplay. Critics received it positively, with a Metacritic score of 71, praising its improved graphics and mechanics while noting its simplistic design.
PlayStation Plus Update for PS4 Users
Sony has also announced a shift in its PlayStation Plus strategy, focusing on PS5 titles starting in January 2026. While PS4 games will still appear occasionally in the monthly lineup and Game Catalog, they will no longer be a primary benefit.
“As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit, PlayStation Plus is also evolving with this trend,” Sony stated. “We’ll continue to evolve the experience of PlayStation Plus and optimize the benefits you receive, including exclusive discounts, online multiplayer access, and more.”
Final Thoughts
These three games will be available to PlayStation Plus members from February 4 until March 3, 2025. Whether you’re planning intricate heists, exploring a humorous sci-fi world, or revisiting a beloved classic, this month’s lineup offers a diverse selection of experiences.
Until February 3, PlayStation Plus members can still claim January’s games, including Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.
