On December 3, 2024, on PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) hosted the 2024 PlayStation Partner Awards in Japan and Asia. This event honored the exceptional games and talented developers who released their creations on PlayStation platforms within the Japan/Asia region.
The awards celebrated not only the success of PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 titles released between October 2023 and September 2024 but also acknowledged remarkable games from earlier PlayStation generations. This included titles from iconic platforms like the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4.
Award Categories and Winners
Excellence Award
This honor was given to games developed in Japan/Asia that achieved consistent commercial success and had a significant impact over the past three years. Genshin Impact by HoYoverse received this recognition for its enduring popularity and influence.
Grand Award
This category celebrated the top three titles with the highest worldwide sales between October 2023 and September 2024. The winners were:
- Black Myth: Wukong (Game Science Interactive Technology)
- Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (FromSoftware/Bandai Namco Entertainment)
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Square Enix Co., Ltd.)
Partner Award
Recognizing games with strong worldwide sales and notable achievements, this category featured:
- Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Capcom Co., Ltd.)
- Honkai: Star Rail (HoYoverse)
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Sega)
- Persona 3 Reload (Atlus Co., Ltd.)
- Tekken 8 (Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.)

Special Award
This recognized PS5 titles developed in collaboration with SIE outside the Japan/Asia region, which achieved notable success within the region. Winners included:

Users’ Choice Award
Selected by user votes in Japan and Asia, this award highlighted the top five games with the longest gameplay times. The winners were:
