Nintendo Switch Online is removing Super Soccer from its game library on March 27, 2025. This marks the first time a game has been pulled from the service since it launched in 2018.

The removal will happen globally, with Nintendo confirming that Super Soccer will no longer be available starting March 27 at 6:00 p.m. PDT/9:00 p.m. EDT (or March 28, depending on your location). The announcement initially came via social media for Japanese users, with confirmation for Western regions following a day later.

Nintendo has not provided any explanation for removing the game, which was listed as a Spike Chunsoft at release. According to industry observers, the removal could be related to licensing rights or other behind-the-scenes factors.

The Nintendo Switch Online service has been consistently adding classic games for members since its launch. As noted by Brian from Nintendo Everything, the fact that this is the first removal in nearly seven years is encouraging, suggesting this might be an isolated incident rather than the start of a trend.

Players who want to experience Super Soccer should do so before the end of March, as there’s no indication whether the game will return to the service in the future. Nintendo Switch Online continues to expand its library regularly, with Wario Land 4 being the most recent addition for Expansion Pack subscribers.
