Nexon’s DNF Mobile Earned $1 Billion in China Alone

Dungeon & Fighter Online (DFO) Mobile

Dungeon & Fighter Online (DFO) Mobile generated over 1.52 trillion won (approximately $1.062 billion) in China within seven months of its launch in May.

Developed by Nexon, DNF Mobile debuted in Korea in March 2022 but saw its most significant success following its release in China. Revenue in China outpaced its Korean earnings by five times, with the Korean market contributing around $200 million according to data from market research firm Sensor Tower. Tencent published it in China.

This outstanding performance has been a major factor in Nexon achieving a cumulative revenue of 3.27 trillion won through the third quarter of 2024. The game’s incredible earnings have also set Nexon on track to surpass an annual revenue milestone of 4 trillion won.

As Nexon celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, the company has set ambitious goals of achieving 7 trillion won ($5.1 billion) in annual revenue by 2027. During the “NEXT ON” media event in November, Nexon’s co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook unveiled this ambitious target.

Following the successful launch of The First Defendant, Nexon plans to release The First Berserker: Khazan for the Western market, in PC and console versions on March 27th, 2025. The announcement came during the latest The Game Awards. Here, Nexon also unveiled Dungeon Fighter: Arad World, an action-adventure game featuring a cast of characters who wield different weapons. More information is coming soon.

The company also aims to expand other hit massively multiplayer role-playing game IPs, including MapleStory and Mabinogi, and strengthen their services overseas through tailored marketing strategies.
