Newzoo’s Top 20 PC/Console Games of November 2024: Revenue and MAU Rankings Across Key Markets

Newzoo has unveiled its list of the top 20 PC and console games for November 2024 based on revenue and monthly active users (MAU) across six major markets: the USA, UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France.

Unsurprisingly, the Call of Duty (COD) franchise, including Black Ops and Modern Warfare II & III, dominated the charts, securing the top spot in all six markets. Recent reports from CIRCANA also highlighted COD’s exceptional performance, noting its position as the number-one game in the US market. Year-to-date, COD holds second place, just behind EA Sports College Football 25.

New Releases Shine in the Rankings

Five major new releases made their mark on November’s revenue rankings:

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard (5th place)
  • Farming Simulator 25 (6th place)
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (7th place)
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (11th place)
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership (13th place)

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Developed by BioWare, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the fourth major installment in the Dragon Age franchise and the sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014). Released on October 31, 2024, across both console and PC platforms, the game quickly topped Steam charts and set a new concurrent player record for BioWare, with over 85,000 players during its opening weekend. Dragon Age: The Veilguard received generally positive reviews from critics and earned nominations for Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards and Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards. It was also one of EA’s most successful single-player launches, surpassing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in concurrent player numbers.

Farming Simulator 25

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl debuted on November 20 and claimed the 7th spot. Despite facing criticism for technical bugs, the game received positive reviews from players, earning high ratings on Steam. The title sold over one million copies within its first two days, reflecting strong anticipation and engagement from fans.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Released on November 19 for Windows and Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 secured the 11th position. Critics praised its improved visuals, new features, and enhanced streaming technology. The game continues to deliver an immersive and realistic simulation experience, solidifying its place in the market.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Nintendo’s Mario & Luigi: Brothership, launched on November 7, took 13th place. The game received widespread praise for its vibrant art style, engaging combat mechanics, and charming story, further cementing the Mario & Luigi series as a fan favorite.

Platform-Specific Highlights

On PC, Planet Coaster 2 (14th place) and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered (15th place) made a notable impact, highlighting Sony’s successful strategy in bringing former PlayStation exclusives to the platform.

For PlayStation, Farming Simulator 25 was the standout title, reaching 8th place on the console’s charts.

On Xbox, Death Stranding climbed to 15th place despite being released five years after its initial launch.

Nintendo Switch saw strong performances from Mario & Luigi: Brothership (2nd place) and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake (9th place). Additionally, Kirby and the Forgotten Land made a surprising leap, climbing 233 spots to secure 18th place.
