Netflix is starting 2025 with an exciting addition to its gaming lineup, as the highly anticipated Carmen Sandiego puzzle game prepares for its January 28th launch on Netflix Games.
Developed by Gameloft Brisbane, this latest adaptation puts an interesting twist on the classic formula. Unlike the original games where Carmen was the elusive target, this version aligns with Netflix’s animated series portrayal, casting her as a heroic figure helping to track down VILE operatives across the globe.
The game features a fully realized 3D world where players can:
- Explore detailed recreations of real-world locations
- Solve various puzzle types, including tangled-wire challenges and math problems
- Analyze clues and make informed decisions
- Use high-tech gadgets to track criminal syndicates
- Travel to iconic cities like Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and Brisbane
This marks Gameloft’s second major collaboration with Netflix Games, following Asphalt Xtreme‘s release in 2021.
Release Schedule and Platform
The game’s rollout follows a strategic schedule:
- January 28, 2025: Launch on Netflix Games (iOS and Android)
- March 4, 2025: Release on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch
- Late April 2025: Physical edition release
