What’s Different About the Returning Characters?

Three returning characters within the Mortal Kombat universe, have undergone significant changes in the new expansion.

Noob Saibot was once known as Bi-Han, the original Sub-Zero from the Lin Kuei clan of warriors. He is connected to the new story’s antagonist, Titan Havik, who stole his soul and transformed him into Noob Saibot, a harbinger of chaos.

Cyrax and Sektor, traditionally known as cyborgs, have also received new storylines in Mortal Kombat 1. Unlike previous iterations, both characters are now female in this universe.

Cyrax is depicted as a martial arts prodigy from the Zaki (sub-clan of the Lin Kuei), while Sektor is a master armorer and trusted lieutenant of Sub-Zero.

How Does the New Story Expand the Mortal Kombat 1 Universe?

The “Khaos Reigns” expansion promises an all-new cinematic storyline that expands the Mortal Kombat 1 universe.

The plot revolves around the protagonist, Fire God Liu Kang, who is going to face a new threat – Titan Havik from an alternate timeline.

Titan Havik is a relentless villain intent on throwing the realms into chaos (or “khaos” as they spell it).

Liu Kang has to get help from both his friends and his enemies to stop Havik.

The story explores complex dynamics between the characters, offering rich backstories for each fighter. For instance, Sub-Zero’s transformation into Noob Saibot is a critical element of the narrative, showcasing his struggle and eventual allegiance to Titan Havik.

The free update accompanying Khaos Reigns will introduce fan-favorite Animality finishers.

Players will be able to transform into various animals to deliver brutal, gory finishes to their opponents. Imagine exploding your foe as a puffer fish or tearing them apart as a pack of wolves!

Who’s Voicing the New Characters?

NetherRealm has enlisted some talented voice actors for the new roster:

  • Noob Saibot: Kaiji Tang
  • Cyrax: Enuka Okuma
  • Sektor: Erika Ishii
  • Ghostface: Roger L. Jackson (reprising his role from the Scream films)

Interestingly, while Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness is used for Conan, he does not provide the character’s voice.
