Mecha BREAK, a new mech combat game developed by Amazing Seasun Games, has reached over 317k concurrent players on Steam during its Global Storm Open Beta launched on February 23.
The game quickly climbed to become the fourth most-played game on the platform, outperforming Marvel Rivals this past weekend.
According to SteamDB statistics, Mecha BREAK not only surpassed Marvel Rivals in player count but also briefly led in 24-hour peak player numbers while topping the trending games list on SteamDB.
This impressive achievement for a game still in beta suggests strong potential for the official release. The beta launch, supported by a recent 23-minute preview video and a new trailer, clearly connected with gamers eager to experience the mech-focused combat simulator.

Mecha BREAK offers several different gameplay options including PvPvE and a six-versus-six PvP mode called Operation Verge. Players can customize their mechs with various abilities that enhance movement and damage output. Beyond standard third-person shooter mechanics, the game incorporates team-based gameplay similar to popular MOBA titles like Dota 2 and League of Legends.
Looking ahead, Amazing Seasun Games has announced plans to host an invitational esports tournament in March before the game’s full release in Spring 2025. As per the developer’s statement, the Mecha BREAK Pre-Launch Global Invitational will take place from March 13th to 16th, featuring 10 teams from China, North America, and Japan.
The developers have also revealed intentions to establish an “annual esports event,” signaling their long-term commitment to competitive play. While specific details about participating teams and tournament format remain undisclosed, this pre-launch event will serve as an opportunity to gather feedback from esports players.
As of now, over 5000 reviews have appeared on Steam, but only 35% are positive. While some players praise the fast-paced gameplay and loadout customization options, most criticism has been directed at the game’s bugs and technical issues. Even though developers clearly labeled the release as a beta version, numerous players have expressed frustration with these problems.
