Last War: Survival, the popular strategy game from FirstFun, reached to new milestone of $2 billion in mobile player spending.
When Last War first launched globally in August 2023, it generated just $287,000 in first month – a figure that would seem almost quaint compared to its latest earnings.
But, by September 2023, that number had more than doubled to $592,000, showing the first hints of the game’s potential.
AppMagic‘s data reveals an even more dramatic jump in October 2023, when monthly revenue crossed the million-dollar mark for the first time.
From there, the game’s trajectory shot upward like a rocket. In just a few months, it had accumulated $50 million in lifetime earnings by January 2024’s end.
Market analysts were stunned when Last War hit its first billion dollars in player spending on September 14th, 2024, during a month that brought in a staggering $174.5 million.
This transformative journey – from earning less than $300,000 in its first month to becoming a billion-dollar game in just over a year – showcases the explosive potential of mobile gaming when developers strike the right chord with their audience.
The game’s finances continued to strengthen, with December 2024 seeing a substantial 21% increase to $211.2 million.
January 2025 set a new record with $212 million in revenue. Industry analysts note that February 2025 is poised to surpass these figures, having already generated $136.6 million by mid-month.
A notable highlight was February 14th’s record-breaking daily revenue of $11.6 million, exceeding the previous record by 21%.
Regional data reveals the United States as the game’s strongest market, contributing $664.9 million, or 33% of total revenue.
South Korea and Japan have emerged as the second and third-largest markets, each contributing approximately 18% of global spending with $364.7 million and $361.9 million respectively.
Taiwan follows at a distance, generating $85.5 million, or 4% of global revenue.
Gaming industry experts attribute Last War’s explosive growth to several factors, including aggressive marketing strategies and the introduction of engaging features like Overlord Training and Winter Storm Battlefield.
The game’s success also stems from its innovative approach of blending hypercasual gameplay with 4X strategy elements, known for their strong monetization potential.
