The Bangalore-based game developers, Studio Sirah, has announced that its strategy game, Kurukshetra: Ascension, has crossed one million players. Released in February 2022, the game is inspired by the rich tales of the Mahabharata and Ramayana.

It holds the distinction of being India’s first card collection strategy game and won the Google Play Best Indie Game award in 2023.

Since its launch, players have engaged in over 14.6 million matches across various game modes like Story, Duels, Challenges, and Draft.

Among the game’s heroes, Arjuna has emerged as the most popular choice, featuring in over 3.8 million matches. Some dedicated players have logged nearly 2,000 hours of gameplay, showcasing the game’s ability to captivate audiences.

Co-founder Abhaas Shah expressed his gratitude, saying, “Kurukshetra celebrates the Indian epics by presenting them in a modern and engaging way. The love and recognition from players globally reaffirm our commitment to raising the bar for Indian gaming and storytelling.”

Currently in its 11th seasonKurukshetra: Ascension introduces a new playable hero (Himavat), powerful cards, and rewards through the Karma Pass. The next season is set to launch soon, along with a new game based on Indian epics.

Kurukshetra: Ascension is available on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, offering players an immersive experience blending strategy and storytelling.
