Krafton India has announced the second cohort of its ambitious Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI) program.

The initiative promises to be a game-changer as it is designed to nurture and support budding game developers in India.

Launched in Oct 2023, it offers financial backing and expert mentorship, providing participants with the tools they need to succeed in the competitive world of game development.

The inaugural cohort of KIGI featured four promising game developers who were selected from over 300 applicants:

  • ReDimension Games
  • Shura Games
  • Dunali Games
  • Arjuna Studios

These developers received invaluable support and guidance for their upcoming game launch.

Building on the success of its first iteration, KIGI is expanding its reach. The program will now accommodate “six to ten” new game developer teams across India, nearly doubling its capacity.

Participants in the KIGI program get benefits like:

  • Monetary support ranging from $50,000 to $150,000
  • Access to Krafton’s global team of industry experts
  • 1-on-1 Mentorship in crucial areas such as game development, design, marketing, and business strategy
  • Additional hands-on technical support (a new feature based on feedback from the first cohort)
  • Opportunities for collaboration within the KIGI developer community

The KIGI program is part of Krafton’s massive $150 million investment in Indian talent in the next few years.

Anuj Sahani, head of KIGI and India publishing advisor at Krafton, expressed enthusiasm about the program’s expansion:

“The launch of our second cohort signifies our ongoing commitment to nurturing the gaming ecosystem in India. We are excited to welcome new talent and look forward to working with them to create groundbreaking games that resonate with audiences worldwide.”

Applications for the second cohort of the KIGI program will open on October 1, 2024. Developers interested in applying can visit Krafton’s official website to access the application form.
