Konami has released its latest financial report for the nine-month period ending December 31, 2024, revealing impressive growth across all major business segments. The Japanese gaming giant’s success has been specifically driven by the outstanding performance of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has sold over 2 million copies since its October 2024 launch.

Record-Breaking Numbers

The company’s overall financial performance shows significant improvement compared to the previous year. Total revenue reached ¥310.8 billion (approximately $2 billion), marking a 22.8% increase year-over-year. Even more impressive is the surge in business profit, which rose 38.7% to reach ¥87.1 billion ($560 million). Operating profit also saw a substantial boost, climbing 45.5% to ¥86.7 billion ($557 million).

The Digital Entertainment division, which contains Konami’s video game operations, emerged as the company’s strongest performer. Its business profit showed remarkable growth as well, rising 44.6% to reach ¥80.8 billion ($519.7 million). These figures underscore the division’s significance, as it now accounts for nearly 74% of Konami’s total revenue.

Success Beyond Silent Hill

While the Silent Hill 2 remake has been a standout success, Konami’s sports titles have also contributed significantly to these strong results. The company’s eFootball franchise has now reached a remarkable milestone, surpassing 800 million downloads across all platforms, including consoles, PC, and mobile devices. Other successful releases include Professional Baseball Spirits 2024-2025 and eBaseball MLB Pro Spirit, both of which have performed well in their respective markets.

The Amusement segment also showed positive growth, with revenue increasing by 3.6% to ¥16.9 billion ($108.7 million) and business profit rising 16.2% to reach ¥2.5 billion ($16 million).

Looking Ahead

Based on these strong results, Konami has revised its full-year forecasts upward. The company now expects annual revenue to reach ¥412 billion ($2.6 billion), a 14.3% increase from its initial projection of ¥380 billion. Business profit forecasts have also been adjusted upward by 22.4%, from ¥92.5 billion to ¥108 billion.

Gaming fans can look forward to several highly anticipated projects in action. Konami is currently working on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and has promised updates on new Silent Hill titles (Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall) through its upcoming Silent Hill Transmission showcase. The company has specifically mentioned plans to “produce completely new titles” in the Silent Hill franchise, suggesting an exciting future for the horror franchise.
