Konami has announced that the critically acclaimed Ninja Five-O, originally released for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) in 2003, is making its way to modern platforms. The fan-favorite ninja action game will launch on PS4 and PS5 on February 25, 2025. Preorders are now available on the PlayStation Store for $24.99, with PlayStation Plus subscribers receiving a 15% discount.
In Ninja Five-O, players take on the role of Joe Osugi, a skilled detective who uses Ninjutsu to battle a terrorist organization. The game’s description highlights exciting gameplay mechanics, including sword strikes, shuriken throws, and grappling-hook combinations. Players will face challenges like stopping train hijackings and thwarting bank robberies while exploring the retro-style platformer world.
To modernize the classic game, Konami has added new features, including a Time Trial Mode that tests players’ speed in completing previously cleared stages. Accessibility updates, such as save states and a rewind feature, make it easier for players to navigate challenging levels without starting over.
When first released, Ninja Five-O received positive reviews, earning an average score of 82 on Metacritic. Its engaging gameplay and unique style have made it a cult classic over the years.
Konami has also revealed the release of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection on February 27, 2025. This collection brings several classic GBA, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color titles to the Nintendo Switch and PC. However, Ninja Five-O stands out as it will also be available on PlayStation platforms.
