Kit Harington, the actor best known as Jon Snow in HBO’s iconic Game of Thrones series, has made a grand return to Westeros, but not in the way you might expect. This time, Harington reprises his role for the launch trailer of Zynga’s latest RPG puzzle mobile game, Game of Thrones: Legends.
What is Game of Thrones: Legends?
Game of Thrones: Legends is a brand-new mobile game developed by Zynga, a company behind some popular mobile gaming titles like FarmVille, Words with Friends, Zynga Poker, Empires & Puzzles, CSR Racing, and many more.
Released on July 25th, the game is now available on both the App Store and Google Play.
It is officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO and features content from both the Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon TV shows.
The game features a combination of RPG and puzzle mechanics where players are tasked with:
- Building and leading their own house in Westeros
- Recruiting a team of iconic characters
- Battling against familiar enemies from the Game of Thrones universe
- Leveling up their roster of champions
The game offers a story mode where players can explore Westeros and aim to claim the Iron Throne.
Additionally, players can participate in raids and compete in real-time, leveling up their roster of champions.
Fans will be thrilled to know they can assemble a dream team of characters including:

- Rhaenyra Targaryen
- The Hound
- Ser Criston Cole
- Drogon
- Arya Stark
- Ghost
Game Features:
- House Customization: Players lead their own house and claim the Iron Throne through house management and alliances.
- RPG Puzzle Battles: The game integrates puzzle-solving mechanics with RPG battles. Players must strategically match puzzle pieces to unleash powerful attacks, similar to the popular game Puzzle & Dragons.
- Recruit Iconic Characters: Players can collect a wide array of characters from both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Each character has unique skills and abilities that can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness in battle.
- Forming A Team: The game encourages players to pair characters strategically, such as teaming Jon Snow with Ghost for more powerful combo moves.
Kit Harington‘s involvement in the game’s launch trailer has generated significant buzz. In the trailer, Harington channels his inner Jon Snow as he plays the game in a dimly lit club with a lady who can’t resist herself saying the iconic line “You know nothing John Snow”.
Commenting on his participation, Harington said:
“The creativity and care taken to create Game of Thrones: Legends is obvious and it feels completely natural to jump back into Westeros for this game. This is a true love letter to the fans, of whom the franchise would be nothing without, and I’m honored to pay tribute to them in this new campaign.”
