Kai Cenat has achieved what no other Twitch streamer has done before.
During his November 2024 subathon event, dubbed “Mafiathon 2,” Cenat became the first creator to surpass 500,000 subscribers on the platform, setting a new benchmark in streaming history.
The Journey to Half a Million
The path to this milestone began with an exciting announcement in October 2024, when Cenat revealed his plans for Mafiathon 2 during a stream featuring WWE superstar John Cena. The timing was strategic, coming shortly after fellow streamer Ironmouse had claimed the previous record of 326,252 subscribers in September.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the speed at which it happened. Within just 11 days of starting his subathon, Cenat had already surpassed Ironmouse’s record. By day 15, he reached 400,000 subscribers, and on day 21, he broke the historic 500,000 mark. As of November 23, his subscriber count stands at an impressive 532,000 and continues to grow.

What sets Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 apart is its impressive lineup of celebrity guests. The event has featured appearances from entertainment industry giants including Snoop Dogg, Miranda Cosgrove, and Chris Brown. This star power, combined with Cenat’s engaging personality and professional production quality, has helped drive his unprecedented subscriber growth.
Philanthropic Vision
Beyond breaking records, Cenat’s subathon carries a noble cause. The streamer has pledged to donate 20% of the proceeds toward building a school in Nigeria. This charitable aspect has resonated with viewers and potentially contributed to the event’s success.

With over 13 million Twitch followers, he now ranks among the platform’s top 5 most-followed streamers.
His success story began on YouTube in 2013, but it was his 2022 collaborations with celebrities like Bobby Shmurda and NLE Choppa that first catapulted him to mainstream attention.
Currently, he received a record five nominations at this year’s Streamer Awards, including for Streamer of the Year, Gamer of the Year, and Best Just Chatting Streamer. The winners will be announced on December 7, and many are hoping Kai will clinch another top trophy after a record-breaking year.
