The 2025 Mid-Season Cup (MSC) for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will welcome Japan back to international competition after a four-year absence. The tournament, taking place in July, will also see Vietnam make its first appearance at the event.

For the second consecutive year, the MSC will be part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The tournament will now feature 16 participating regions—the highest number in the event’s history.

MOONTON Games recently announced the slot distribution for both the Main Stage and Wild Card competitions.

First, 8 teams will battle in the Wild Card stage for a single qualification spot in the Main Stage. Japan and Vietnam will join teams from China, EECA, LATAM, Mekong, MENA, and Mongolia in this initial phase.

The Wild Card winner will advance to the Main Stage, joining 15 directly invited teams from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, China, EECA, LATAM, Turkey, MENA, Myanmar, North America, and Singapore.

Indonesia, Philippines, and Malaysia have each secured two slots in the Main Stage.

Japan’s participation marks their first appearance at an international MLBB esports event since the M2 World Championship in 2020. Meanwhile, Vietnam will make its debut in the Wild Card format, which was introduced to international MLBB tournaments just last year.

According to Esports Charts, MSC was the most-watched EWC event in 2024, reaching a peak of over 2.3 million concurrent viewers during the Falcons AP.Bren vs Selangor Red Giants Grand Final. The Wild Card stage alone generated 373,000 peak concurrent viewers.

These impressive numbers helped Mobile Legends: Bang Bang become 2024’s most-watched mobile esports title, accumulating over 475 million hours watched across all tournaments.
