India’s Most Successful BGMI Players: Who Earns the Most?

According to Esports Charts, Ammar Khan, better known by his in-game name Destro, representing Gods Reign, is currently the highest-earning BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) player in India.

This ranking focuses strictly on earnings from tournament prize pools, excluding other income sources like brand endorsements and sponsorships to present a clear picture of players’ tournament success.

BGMI, one of the most popular mobile games in India, has cultivated a thriving esports community. With millions of players and numerous high-stakes tournaments, the game has become a significant part of the country’s esports landscape. Prize pools in BGMI competitions have attracted top talent, giving rise to notable players who have showcased their exceptional skills in various tournaments.

Jonathan Jude Amaral, known simply as Jonathan, holds second place in tournament earnings.

Destro, with total winnings of $92,200 from tournaments, leads the list, demonstrating his prowess and dedication to the game. Jonathan follows closely behind, with a total of $83,447 in prize money earned solely from competitions.

Other prominent names in the Indian BGMI scene also stand out. Parth Garg, known as DeltaPG, is ranked third with $81,666 in tournament earnings.

Vivek Aabhas Horo, who plays under the name ClutchGod and represents Numen Esports, holds the fourth spot with $80,118.

Completing the top five is Justin, a fellow player from Gods Reign, who has accumulated $73,964 from tournament winnings.

Liquipedia data shows that in 2023, DeltaPG earned over $74,000, Justin over $69,000, and both SHOGUN and Destro more than $67,000. Jonathan, who had peak earnings of over $15,000 annually from 2019 to 2022, saw a decrease to just over $4,000 in 2023.

With the rapid growth of esports in India, more opportunities and larger prize pools are likely to emerge.

The developer of BGMI, Krafton, has also committed to the growth of esports in India with an investment of over $150 million in the Indian gaming ecosystem over the next few years.
