Honor of Kings is putting its massive player base to work for the planet. As part of the “Protect Nature, Protect All Life” campaign—running now through April 22nd—players can directly contribute to real-world forest conservation just by completing missions in-game.
The event is part of the Green Game Jam 2025, organized by the Playing for the Planet Alliance. By completing daily quests, players earn Forest Breath Tokens, which unlock educational content centered on forest ecosystems and 18 endangered species.
Gaming with Real-World Impact
What sets this event apart? It’s not just symbolic. As the global player community fills a collective progress bar, Honor of Kings will fund four major forest conservation projects by purchasing verified carbon credits. These projects will help preserve crucial forests across Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brazil.
According to the official announcement, these projects were selected based on ratings from Sylvera, an independent global carbon credit rating agency, to ensure high-quality environmental impact.
The four supported initiatives include:
-
Katingan Peatland Restoration and Conservation Project (Indonesia)
-
Kuamut Rainforest Conservation Project (Malaysia)
-
Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project (Indonesia)
-
Brazilian Amazon APD Grouped Project (Brazil)
“Match for Green” Mini-Game and Exclusive Rewards
Beginning April 10th through May 4th, players can also participate in the “Match for Green” mini-game, a stack-and-match style event that adds another layer of eco-friendly fun. By logging in, completing missions, and sharing with friends, players earn tokens that unlock special in-game rewards.
The highlight of the event is the Legendary Skin “Sakeer – Verdant Serenity”, featuring nature-inspired animations, skill effects, and voice lines that celebrate environmental harmony.
This meaningful initiative follows on the heels of Honor of Kings’ recent Jujutsu Kaisen crossover, showcasing the game’s unique balance of pop culture excitement and social responsibility.
The entire campaign is supported by Play for Good, a platform created by Tencent Games that transforms virtual actions into real-world change. As described in the announcement, it allows players to “engage in philanthropic activities by turning virtual achievements into meaningful acts of kindness.”
Backed by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Green Game Jam encourages studios to weave sustainability into their gameplay. Last year, PUBG Mobile participated with its “Play for Green” activation, featuring a new map series created with a climatologist to reflect climate change impacts, alongside in-game events and rewards to educate players about endangered plants.
