Is Grand Theft Auto 6 Coming in Early 2025? Excitement Builds Around Projected Release Date

Recent reports suggest GTA 6 could launch in the first quarter of 2025, exciting fans who have awaited a new GTA title for over a decade.

But how credible are these rumors? Let’s unpack the clues hinting at a potential early 2025 release date for GTA 6.

Take-Two Aims for Massive Revenue Jump in 2025

During a recent conference call, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, projected a revenue of $8 billion for fiscal year 2025 (From 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025).

The Gaming industry analyst @GTAVI_Countdown noted that the only plausible way to hit such a big target if they launch GTA 6 as early as possible probably in Q1 of 2025.

While Take-Two’s revenue goals aren’t official confirmation, they strongly suggest GTA 6 could land on shelves between January and March 2025

Of course, release dates often shift in the gaming industry, so this projection isn’t set in stone.

Vice City Setting Hints at 2025 Timeframe

The GTA 6 teaser trailer revealed the game is set in Vice City, Rockstar’s fictional version of Miami first featured in 2002’s GTA: Vice City.

The series has followed a pattern of returning to past locations after roughly 15 years.

GTA 6 revisiting Vice City in 2025 would fit nicely with this cycle.

The vivid neon-lit setting of Vice City also feels fresh after players spent years roaming the countryside and mountains of GTA 5’s San Andreas.

Meticulous Attention to Detail Takes Time

Rockstar is renowned for the incredible depth and detail of its open worlds.

Creating a fully realized 3D Vice City could easily take over 5 years.

Given active development likely started around 2018 after Red Dead Redemption 2’s release, a 2025 launch for GTA 6 fits reasonable development timeframes.

Rumors will continue swirling in the lead-up to GTA 6’s eventual launch.

But an early 2025 release aligns with Take-Two’s revenue projections, Rockstar’s development style, and the series’ pattern of revisiting old stomping grounds.
