Google Play has unveiled the list of its best Android apps and games for 2024, highlighting the best digital experiences across various categories. This annual tradition helps users discover top content that stands out in the Android ecosystem.
In gaming, AFK Journey claimed the crown as 2024’s Best Overall Game. Developed by Lilith Games and published by Farlight Games, this fantasy RPG won hearts with its strategic battle system and diverse character roster. The game’s stunning visuals and vast, explorable world create an immersive experience that sets it apart from other mobile games in its genre.
Supercell’s Clash of Clans secured the Best Multi-device Game award for successfully expanding its reach to PCs and Chromebooks. After more than ten years in the mobile gaming space, this strategic battle game was recently optimized for larger screens.
Although it didn’t win Best Game, Supercell’s action-packed title Squad Busters was awarded Best Multiplayer Game. The game generated over $50 million in gross player spending within the first two months, ranking it among the year’s most successful launches.
Among the new releases, Yes, Your Grace was honored with the Best Indie Game title. Initially launched in March 2020 for PC, Xbox, and Nintendo, the original game was created by Brave at Night and released by No More Robots. The mobile version was developed and published by Noodlecake and released in 2024. Yes, Your Grace is a role-playing strategy game that primarily revolves around resource management and decision-making. Players are tasked with leading an army, forging alliances with other monarchs, and engaging in forthcoming battles.
Last year’s Best Game winner, HoYoverse’s Honkai: Star Rail, clinched the Best Ongoing Game in 2024. The game sustained its success throughout the year, surpassing $1 billion in mobile revenue before its first anniversary.

Unlike previous years, the 2024 awards didn’t include a Users’ Choice category, which typically allowed Android users to vote for their favorites.
