The Gayming Awards returns for its fifth annual celebration in July 2025, expanding its reach through a new partnership with LGBTQ+ streaming platform WOW Presents Plus and adding new categories to recognize industry talent.

Set to air globally on July 8th, 2025, this year’s ceremony builds upon the success of its previous edition, which attracted more than 1.4 million viewers through live broadcasts and social media highlights.

The exclusive streaming deal with WOW Presents Plus positions the awards show alongside popular content like the international Drag Race franchise and various original productions.

The 2025 ceremony introduces two significant additions to its award categories. As announced by the organizers, the new LGBTQ+ Voice Actor of the Year category will spotlight voice talent in games, while the Community Impact Award will recognize individuals and groups making meaningful contributions to the LGBTQ+ gaming community.

In response to the evolving content creation landscape, the awards show has also rebranded its LGBTQ+ Streamer of the Year category to LGBTQ+ Content Creator of the Year, acknowledging creators who work beyond traditional live streaming formats.

According to Robin Gray, founder of both Gayming Magazine and the Gayming Awards, these changes reflect the growing diversity within the gaming community.

“At a time where LGBTQ+ rights and culture are being erased, the Gayming Awards stand proudly and firmly as a key beacon of hope,” Gray stated in the press announcement. The show’s expansion to WOW Presents Plus marks what he describes as “the next big step” in establishing the awards as a key cultural moment.

The ceremony will present honors across 13 distinct categories, including Game of the Year, Authentic Representation Award, and Best LGBTQ+ Contribution to Esports.

Public nominations are now open for nine of these categories through the official website, gaymingawards.com, allowing the gaming community to help shape this year’s recognition of excellence.

Last year’s ceremony set a high standard for competition, with Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 emerging as the dominant winner. The game secured victories in nearly every category where it was nominated, including the prestigious Game of the Year award.
