Players of the popular mobile racing game Asphalt Nitro were recently informed via an in-game notification that the game will shut down permanently on March 3, 2025. This news came as a surprise to many fans who have enjoyed the lightweight, fast-paced racing experience since its release.
Launched in May 2015, Asphalt Nitro was designed as a compact version of the well-loved Asphalt series. It catered to players with limited storage space but delivered premium features, including exciting gameplay, exotic cars, and stunning race tracks. Despite its smaller size, the game gained a loyal following and became a favorite among mobile racing enthusiasts.
However, no official reason has been provided by Gameloft for the decision to end the game’s services. The notification advises current players to use any remaining in-game currency before the shutdown date, as all access to the game will cease afterward.
At present, Asphalt Nitro has already been removed from app stores, making it unavailable to new players. Efforts to access the game’s official page return an error, confirming that it is no longer listed online.
Given the game’s age and dated graphics compared to modern mobile titles, Gameloft may be shifting focus to newer games like Asphalt 9: Legends.
