Berlin-based esports and gaming company Freaks 4U Gaming has secured a renewed operator license from Riot Games for the League of Legends Esports Prime League.
This new agreement allows Freaks 4U to continue managing the DACH regional league, covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, from 2025 to 2027.
Since 2018, Freaks 4U has been actively involved in organizing competitive League of Legends tournaments in the DACH region, building a strong presence in the gaming community.
In an official statement (via The Esports Advocate), Freaks 4U described the renewed license as a “significant milestone” that highlights its “long-standing partnership” with Riot Games. The company also emphasized its dedication to supporting and enhancing the League of Legends Esports EMEA ecosystem.
Furthermore, Freaks 4U confirmed that Techniker Krankenkasse, a prominent German health insurance provider, will extend its partnership as the title sponsor for the league into 2025. Techniker Krankenkasse initially joined as a title partner back in January, and the financial aspects of this extension remain undisclosed as well.
This latest development comes after a transformative period for Freaks 4U. The company underwent significant changes in late 2023, including staff reductions and the transfer of management for the Northern League of Legends Championship to League.gg. However, 2024 marked a turning point, with India-based NODWIN Gaming acquiring ownership of Freaks 4U through a series of strategic investments. This acquisition has enabled Freaks 4U to stabilize and refocus on its core competencies in the esports sector.
