Xbox Exclusives Are Taking Over PlayStation’s Pre-Order Charts

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5

Xbox’s decision to bring its exclusive games to PlayStation seems to be working out really well. Right now, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 are sitting at the top of the PlayStation Store’s pre-order charts. Both their standard and premium editions are leading the rankings, even beating out some of PlayStation’s biggest exclusives.

Xbox Games Are Outselling PlayStation’s Own Exclusives

According to The Gamer, Xbox exclusives have even overtaken Death Stranding 2: On the Beach in pre-orders. The Death Stranding 2 Digital Deluxe Edition is currently in sixth place, while the standard edition is in 8th spot. Meanwhile, the third-party title ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN Deluxe Edition is holding strong in the 7th spot.

It’s clear that PlayStation players are excited to get their hands on these Xbox titles. Not only are they pre-ordering the standard versions, but many are also grabbing the premium editions with extra content.

A Bold but Smart Move by Xbox

Bringing Xbox exclusives to PlayStation wasn’t an easy call, but looking at these numbers, it seems like the right call.

This isn’t the first time an Xbox-exclusive game has done well on PlayStation either. Last year, Sea of Thieves was a huge hit on PS5, becoming the most pre-ordered game on PlayStation Network before launch. After it dropped on April 30, 2024, it topped the PS5 download charts in the US, Canada, and Europe for May. It also hit number one in Europe and ranked third in the US/Canada for April. By August, reports suggested it had sold over one million copies on PS5 alone.

Now all eyes are on April as Indiana Jones and The Great Circle launches on April 17, followed by Forza Horizon 5 on April 29.

More Xbox Games Might Be Coming to PlayStation

With Xbox games doing this well on PlayStation, the big question is: What’s next? Rumors suggest that Starfield could be the next Xbox exclusive to land on PS5, and looking at how well Indiana Jones and Forza are doing, that seems likely. If this trend continues, we might even see Halo making its way to PlayStation in the future.
