Are you ready for an epic clash of superheroes and villains in the Fortnite universe? The highly anticipated Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4, called “Absolute Doom,” is set to launch on August 16, 2024, bringing with it a massive Marvel crossover that’s sure to excite fans of both franchises.

This exciting announcement was made during Disney’s D23 fan event in Anaheim, California, as part of the Disney Experiences Showcase. Top executives from Disney’s Parks, Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Walt Disney Studios shared the initial details of this groundbreaking collaboration.
Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, unveiled the world premiere of a cinematic and gameplay trailer for the new Marvel-themed Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
New Characters
In “Absolute Doom,” players will witness the Avengers and X-Men joining forces to battle Doctor Doom, with Captain America and Cyclops leading their respective teams. The storyline introduces new character skins for several Marvel heroes and villains.

The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Battle Pass will bring exciting new landmarks and locations particular focus on Doctor Doom. The “Absolute Doom” reveal trailer, along with a preview image shared by Disney on X offers a sneak peek at the upcoming and outgoing POIs.

New Weapons and Powers
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 introduces several new weapons and powers tied to Marvel characters:
- Captain America’s Vibranium Shield
- War Machine’s Arsenal
- Shuri’s Vibranium Claws
- Doctor Doom’s Gauntlets
- Dual Micro SMGs
- Mystique Duel Wield SMG
- Iron Man’s Repulsor
- The Scar
How Can Players Unlock Marvel Character Skins?
From August 16, the Absolute Doom Battle Pass will be available for 950 V-Bucks, which will allow players to unlock various Marvel character skins by leveling up. Doctor Doom will be available via Battle Pass Quests in September.
What Other Disney Characters Are Coming to Fortnite?
While Chapter 5 Season 4 focuses on Marvel, Disney has even bigger plans for future Fortnite collaborations:
- Disney Animation: Jennifer Lee revealed that three classic Disney villains—Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, and Captain Hook—will be the first Disney Animation characters to join “Fortnite” this fall.
- Pixar: The Incredibles will make their Fortnite debut later this year.
- Lucafilms: The Mandalorian (Disney + series based on Star Wars) will introduce IG-11 and Moff Gideon, along with new items like Grogu dynamic Back Bling.
This collaboration is part of a larger $1.5 billion investment by Disney in Epic Games, announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger in February 2024. The partnership aims to create a vast Disney universe within “Fortnite,” offering players opportunities to engage with content, characters, and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.
