During gamescom 2024, NetEase Games, the creators of Marvel Rivals, announced a new life simulation game, Floatopia.
Set to be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Floatopia offers a unique blend of magical elements and beloved life sim mechanics.

While the game is expected to be free-to-play, some Reddit users noticed tons of gacha mechanics incorporated in Floatopia for monetization.
This could potentially include cosmetic items, decorations, or other in-game elements such as getting stronger superpowers.
Although some gamers expressed their frustration with this kind of system as some have labeled it gambling, it aligns with current trends where developers generate significant revenue through these mechanics.
Pre-registration for the game is already open, with bonuses available for early sign-ups. If the game hits 20 million pre-registrations, all players will receive ten “Gacha Tickets.”
