GIANTS Software’s latest installment in the popular series, Farming Simulator 25, sold over two million copies within its first week and reached an astounding 125,000 concurrent players on Steam on launch day. These make it the most successful debut in the franchise’s history.

Released on November 12, Farming Simulator 25 immediately topped Steam’s “Best Sellers” chart. Over 125,000 players logged in simultaneously on launch day, a figure that climbed to 135,000 during the weekend. This level of player engagement is a significant leap compared to its predecessor, Farming Simulator 22, which had a peak of 105,636 concurrent players in 2021.

The impressive launch numbers also boosted total franchise sales to surpass 40 million copies globally.

The game’s success extends beyond Steam, with “thousands more” players enjoying it on Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, according to GIANTS Software. Within its first week, Farming Simulator 25 sold over 30% more than the 1.5 million sold by its 2021 counterpart, Farming Simulator 22.

GIANTS Software expressed gratitude and excitement for the game’s reception, stating on social media, “This is just the beginning.” The studio revealed plans to keep the game fresh with free content updates, patches, and expansions. The Year 1 Season Pass promises three official packs and a major expansion in the coming months. Additionally, the studio is committed to supporting its modding community by adding new mods to the official ModHub and showcasing player creations.

The runaway success of Farming Simulator 25 is a testament to the growing popularity of relaxing simulation games, similar to the success seen with titles like Stardew Valley. These games appeal to players seeking a peaceful escape, offering the simplicity of farming crops or driving a tractor after a long day.
