Selangor Red Giants, the esports division of Malaysia’s Selangor FC football team, entered the tournament as the undefeated champions of MPL Malaysia 2024.
Their journey to victory was marked by impressive performances throughout the Group Stage, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals, culminating in a nail-biting best-of-seven series in the Finals, which they won 4-3.
Sekys from Selangor Red Giants was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, receiving a $50,000 prize for his outstanding contributions.
The MLBB Esports World Cup 2024 offered substantial rewards, with Falcons AP Bren securing the runners-up position and earning $500,000 and 600 Club points.
Free Fire: Team Falcon’s Remarkable Comeback
The second result of Week 2 at the Esports World Cup (EWC) comes from the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2024, where Team Falcons, owned by Saudi Arabia, achieved a stunning victory in the finale.
The tournament featured 18 top teams competing for a $1 million prize pool.
Despite a slow start in the group stages, Team Falcons made an impressive comeback in the Grand Finals.
They dominated the first and sixth rounds, securing 106 points to narrowly beat EVOS DIVINE by seven points. This victory earned them $300,000 and 1000 Club points.
The win also secured Team Falcons a spot in the FFWS Global Finals later this year.
They now lead the club championship with 2600 Club points, putting them in contention for a $7 million prize.

Which Teams advance in the DOTA 2 Riyadh Masters?
The DOTA 2 Riyadh Masters at the Esports World Cup is one of the longest-running tournaments, boasting a massive $5 million prize pool. The tournament, which started on July 4, will run until July 21.
In Week 1 of the Dota 2 Riyadh Masters, the Play-In Stage concluded with eight teams advancing to the Group Stage.
In Week 2, these eight teams battled it out with eight invited teams in the Group Stage, divided into two groups of eight, playing in a single round-robin format.
The top four teams from each group advanced to the upper bracket of the Playoffs, while the fifth and sixth-place teams moved to the lower bracket.
Unfortunately, no teams from South America and North America made it into the final stage, leaving only teams from Western Europe, China, and one team each from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe.
