Bandai Namco has announced that “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” has become the fastest-selling Dragon Ball game in console history. According to the company’s official statement, the game has sold 5 million copies in just 4 months across the platform since its launch in October 2024.

Breaking down the game’s success, Bandai Namco revealed that the title sold over 3 million copies within just 24 hours of its release. The momentum hasn’t slowed down since, with steady growth fueled by free updates and official tournaments keeping players engaged and excited.

Developed by Spike Chunsoft, “Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” is the first new installment in the “Budokai Tenkaichi” series in 17 years. The game features an extensive roster of 182 characters, each with unique abilities.

The game offers a variety of gameplay modes. The Episode Battle mode allows players to relive iconic battles from the “Dragon Ball” series, while the Custom Battles mode enables players to create and share unique battle scenarios. The game also includes both online and offline multiplayer modes, catering to different player preferences.

The game’s development utilized Unreal Engine 5, resulting in stunning visuals that stay true to the anime’s aesthetic.

In addition to the base game, Bandai Namco has released the “Hero of Justice” downloadable content pack. The company has also organized official tournaments, contributing to the game’s ongoing popularity and community engagement.

“Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO” is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
