A new Dog Man video game is in the works, as revealed by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson.
The decision to create another game appears to be linked to the success of the recent Dog Man movie. The film performed impressively at theaters, earning about $130.5 million worldwide while costing only $40 million to make.
Produced by DreamWorks Animation and Scholastic Entertainment, and distributed by Universal Pictures, it serves as a spin-off and a “story within a story” from Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017), making it the second film in the Captain Underpants franchise.
This financial success convinced game developers that there’s a solid market for more Dog Man content. Fans of the character, who originated in Dav Pilkey’s popular graphic novels, can now look forward to “another” interactive adventure.
