Crime Scene Cleaner, the latest simulation hit from President Studio and PlayWay, has achieved an incredible milestone, selling over 500,000 copies in less than four months since its launch. Karol Konieczko, the head of President Studio, announced the updated figures, highlighting the game’s continued success.
Steady Sales Growth
Since its release on August 14, 2024, the game’s sales have shown remarkable growth:
- 103,000 copies sold in the first 72 hours with $1.4 million in gross revenue
- 200,000 copies sold in less than two weeks (as of August 26, 2024).
- 355,000 copies sold within two months (as of October 13, 2024).
- 500,000 copies sold by December 2024.
What’s Makes Crime Scene Cleaner Special?
Released on August 14, the title has quickly become a hit on Steam. It launched with 580,682 wishlists, with the United States, Germany, and China leading sales. Players have spent an average of 5 hours and 29 minutes on the game, showcasing its engaging and addictive gameplay. Steam reviews have been “overwhelmingly positive,” with 95% of 15,300 users praising its fun mechanics. Some have compared it to “Powerwash Simulator, but with a darker twist,” featuring blood, collectibles, and hidden secrets.
Crime Scene Cleaner also reached a peak of 13,577 concurrent players, according to SteamDB. This makes it the fifth-best-performing title in PlayWay’s publishing portfolio, trailing behind popular games like House Flipper and Car Mechanic Simulator 2021.
President Studio, a Polish developer established in 2018, is the creative force behind the game. PlayWay holds a 67.5% stake in the studio. Future plans for the game include DLC content and a console release. A sequel to the main character’s story is already in the works, set to be released in two parts.
