Cloud gaming subscription service Utomik has officially ceased operations. The company’s website announced the closure with a heartfelt message: “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you the Utomik service is no longer available. We have fought long and hard, but sadly, it was not enough. It was a privilege to pioneer subscription gaming, and we want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.”

Utomik launched its cloud gaming service, Utomik Cloud, on Android devices in 2022. The platform focused on offering a library of indie games and unique titles that were unavailable on other gaming services. Despite its innovative approach, Utomik faced intense competition from industry giants like Microsoft, Sony, and Nvidia. The service remained available in the U.S. and Europe until its closure.

While Utomik’s story ends here, the cloud gaming industry continues to grow. According to GlobalData, the market is expected to increase from $3 billion in 2023 to over $22 billion by 2030, with subscribers projected to rise from 184 million to 687 million.
