Bloober Team has signed a new deal with Konami to develop another game based on one of Konami’s popular franchises. This partnership follows their successful collaboration on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which was released in October 2024.

While neither company has revealed which franchise the new project will focus on, many believe it could be another Silent Hill game. This speculation makes sense given Bloober Team’s expertise in horror games and the impressive commercial success of their Silent Hill 2 remake, which sold over two million copies.

“Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself,” said Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team. “By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality production together.”

The Silent Hill 2 remake was warmly received by both critics and players when it launched on PlayStation 5 and PC. According to reports, the game earned an 86/100 rating on Metacritic and an 88/100 on OpenCritic. It also won several awards, including Game of the Year 2024 from IGN Japan and Best Horror Game of the Year from the IGN Community Awards.

The remake hit the impressive milestone of one million copies sold just days after its release, potentially making it the fastest-selling Silent Hill game ever, though Konami hasn’t officially confirmed this record.

As per a press release about the new agreement, “The trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation for signing another agreement for a new project. The deal aligns with Bloober Team’s strategic plan to expand its internal development division within a first-party framework.”

Konami owns several popular gaming franchises including Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, eFootball, Bomberman, and Suikoden. However, given the Polish studio’s horror background and recent success, another Silent Hill project seems most likely.

Before this new mystery game arrives, Bloober Team is working on Cronos: The New Dawn, which will be the company’s first original survival horror game.

Meanwhile, Konami continues to expand the Silent Hill universe with other projects in development. Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall are still in the works, and there’s also a film adaptation of Silent Hill 2 coming soon.
