Assassin’s Creed Shadows has wasted no time climbing the sales charts in America. The newest installment in Ubisoft’s popular series has already secured a spot among the top five best-selling games of 2025 in the United States.
According to Industry analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana, the game has joined an impressive lineup of titles including Monster Hunter: Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This achievement means Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already surpassed NBA 2K25 in sales figures which was ranked 5th up to February end.
Mat further points out that the game achieved the second-highest week-one dollar sales of any 2025 release so far, trailing only Monster Hunter: Wilds. Ubisoft’s own numbers back this up – Shadows reached 3 million players in just its first week and scored the second-highest day-one sales revenue in the franchise’s history.
This hot start comes at a perfect time for Ubisoft, which had been dealing with several underperforming titles recently. The company is already leveraging this success into new business opportunities, forming a subsidiary co-owned with Tencent (who invested a cool €1.16 billion for a 25% stake). This new entity will handle now owned Assassin’s Creed franchise along with Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
