Partnership with GOG to Bring DRM-free Games to Luna
What is GOG?
Started in 2008, GOG (Good Old Games) is a digital distribution platform that is renowned for its vast collection of classic and retro games, ranging from iconic titles from the ’90s and early 2000s to beloved cult favorites.
It works on DRM-Free Philosophy which means it is free from any Digital Rights Management (DRM) restrictions. This ensures that gamers have complete ownership and control over the games they purchase, allowing them to install, backup, and play their games without any limitations or online authentication/key requirements.
In addition to classic titles, GOG also supports and promotes indie games from smaller studios and independent developers, providing them with a platform to reach a wider audience and distribute their DRM-free games.
While GOG initially focused on PC games, they have since expanded their offerings to include games for macOS and Linux, catering to a broader range of gamers and operating systems.
As it is a wholly owned subsidiary of CD Projekt based in Warsaw, Poland, major AAA releases from CD Projekt Red like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are available DRM-free on the platform.
