The 2024 Develop: Star Awards, held at the Brighton Dome, England during the Develop Brighton conference, celebrated the best in game development.
Larian Studios and Remedy Entertainment emerged as the big winners of the night, with their respective titles Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 dominating the awards.
Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 claimed the top prize of Best Game, along with Best Narrative. The studio itself was also recognized as Best Studio, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in the gaming industry.
Meanwhile, Remedy’s psychological thriller Alan Wake 2 secured two major awards: Best Visual Art and Best Audio. Additionally, Remedy’s Sam Lake was honored as Best Creative Lead, further highlighting the game’s creative excellence.

Andy Lane, Managing Director of Tandem Events, summed up the significance of the awards:

The awards are supported by an industry vote, ensuring that the winners are chosen by their peers.
The Develop: Star Awards will return next year on July 9th, during the Develop: Brighton 2025 conference, which will take place from July 8th to 10th.
