Twitch has finally welcomed back controversial streamer Adin Ross after nearly two years in the wilderness. The popular content creator, who was suspended in February 2023, has had his account restored on the platform.
Ross was originally banned for not controlling offensive content on his channel and in his chat. Following his suspension, he moved to Kick.com where he became one of the platform’s biggest stars with over 1.6 million followers.
Before his ban, Ross had accumulated an impressive 7.2 million followers and over 70,000 subscribers on Twitch, making him one of the most-watched streamers on the site.
The comeback started brewing in July 2024 when Twitch CEO Dan Clancy mentioned he’d be open to “chatting with him” to see if Ross had turned over a new leaf. Looks like those talks went well!
There’s a big catch though. Twitch has reset his follower count to zero, meaning he’s starting fresh. Despite this, he managed to gain over 61,000 followers within just 12 hours of his account being restored.
While banned from Twitch, Ross stayed relevant by hosting some major guests on his Kick streams, including President Donald Trump during his election campaign time.
He also made headlines earlier this year when he announced plans to partner with FaZe Clan to create a cryptocurrency-backed role-playing server in the upcoming GTA 6 game. However, as industry observers noted, this idea likely conflicts with Take-Two and Rockstar Games’ terms of service.
Ross hasn’t streamed on his restored Twitch account yet, though fans expect him to go live soon. Everyone’s wondering if he’ll stream on both platforms or eventually make a full return to Twitch.
Industry watchers are curious to see how Ross will adapt his content for Twitch, especially given the platform’s stricter rules compared to Kick.
