The Skyesports Championship 2024 has just concluded, and we have a surprising winner!

Beating all odds, French underdog, 3DMAX secured a decisive 2-0 victory over The Mongolz and clinched a CS2 trophy and a $100,000 prize.

Held from July 23 to 28 at the prestigious Taj Lands End Hotel, Mumbai, this event showcased 11 elite Counter-strike 2 (CS2) teams competing for a substantial $300,000 prize pool.

How Was 3DMAX’s Run in The Skyesports Championship 2024?

Placed in Group B, 3DMAX faced tough competition right from the beginning. Their opening match against the formidable Russian team, Amkal Esports, was a nail-biter, ending with a 16-14 victory in overtime. Despite a setback against Eternal Fire in the second match, they managed to secure a second-place finish in their group, advancing to the playoffs.

The playoffs were a true test of their spirit. As underdogs, 3DMAX faced fierce opponents like ENCE and Aurora Esports, yet they managed to deliver stunning performances and reached the grand finale.

The grand finals against The Mongolz were expected to be a close affair. However, the match turned out to be surprisingly one-sided, with 3DMAX dominating both maps, Anubis and Ancient, to secure a 2-0 victory. Four 3DMAX players achieved 25+ kills across the seriesGraviti, one of the standout players for 3DMAX, delivered an impressive performance with a 38:20 series score, effectively shutting down The MongolZ’s offensive strategies. Ex3rcice, Maka, and Djoko also played crucial roles, contributing significantly to the team’s success.

Bryan “Maka” Canda of 3DMAX wins the MVP award with a $10,000 prize. In the winning speech, he says,

“I would like to thank every fan from France firstly who has been watching us at any time. I would also like to thank all the people who cheered for us. It was quite a tough LAN with some tough moments – we fell sick and stuff – but we made it through, and we’re so happy.”

What Were the Final Standings and Prizes?

The Skyesports Championship 2024 has a $300,000 prize pool. Here are the final standings and prize allocations of all 11 participating teams:

  • 1st Place: 3DMAX – $100,000
  • 2nd Place: The MongolZ – $70,000
  • 3rd and 4th Place: Aurora Gaming and Eternal Fire – $35,000 each
  • 5th and 6th Place: ENCE and Amkal Esports – $15,000 each
  • 7th and 8th Place: Bleed Esports and DMS
  • 9th and 10th Place: Parivision and Revenant Esports
  • 11th Place: True Rippers Esports

It’s important to note that, the tournament was supposed to have a 12th team, but due to technical difficulties on day 1, Russian team BetBoom withdrew from the tournament.

According to Esports Charts, the event garnered over 5 million views and achieved a peak concurrent viewership of 47,600 across multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Mongolian, French, Russian, Turkish, and Polish.
