The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has finalized 11 esports titles for the 2026 Asian Games, which will take place in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan.

During the 93rd OCA executive board meeting in Harbin, China, officials revealed an exciting lineup of games spanning various genres. The selected titles include popular fighting games like Street Fighter 6 and Puyo Puyo Champions, alongside multiplayer strategy games such as Pokemon UNITE and League of Legends.

Mobile gaming enthusiasts will be pleased to see Honor of Kings and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the mix, while racing fans can look forward to Gran Turismo 7 competitions.

The complete roster of games features:

  1. Street Fighter 6
  2. Pokemon UNITE
  3. Honor of Kings
  4. League of Legends (Asian Games Version)
  5. PUBG (Asian Games Version)
  6. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
  7. Dreams Three Kingdoms
  8. Naraka: Bladepoint
  9. Gran Turismo 7
  10. eFootball Series
  11. Puyo Puyo Champions

According to Esports Charts, the previous Asian Games showed substantial viewer interest, with League of Legends and Dota 2 events drawing peak audiences of 146,000 and 78,000 viewers respectively, not including Chinese viewership numbers.

This upcoming event builds upon the success of esports’ debut as a medal sport at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, where seven different titles were featured. The transition from demonstration sport at Jakarta 2018 to full medal status reflects the growing recognition of competitive gaming in international sports.

The Asian Electronic Sports Federation will oversee the esports portion of the Games, ensuring professional standards and fair competition.

This development aligns with the broader trend of esports integration into Olympic events, as evidenced by the International Olympic Committee’s plans for the inaugural Olympic Esports Games, now scheduled for 2027.

The 2026 Asian Games will run from September 9 to October 4, featuring competitions across 41 sports, with esports taking its place alongside traditional athletic disciplines.
